All LNER journeys are eligible for the earned credit, whether you’re travelling on LNER for all or part of your journey.

Within 48 hours of making your booking, you will see your pending credit in your LNER Perks history within the LNER Perks section of My Account.
We will aim to add your confirmed 2% credit to your account ready for you to use within 48 hours of the date of travel, although it could take up to 28 days from that travel date.
You can donate your 2% earned credit when you buy your LNER train tickets on our mobile app or on our website.
You cannot donate your credit retrospectively once the transaction has been completed or when you upload your ticket on the LNER app.
If you have chosen to donate your 2% earned credit to charity, this will show as pending and donated in the My LNER Perks history section of My Account within 48 hours of making your booking. This will be passed to your selected charity the month after your date of travel.

Yes, if you’re on our trains, you can earn 2% credit. You’ll need to download our LNER mobile app, join LNER Perks and follow the process for importing your ticket, using your barcode or ticket collection reference. You’ll be able import your journey using an eTicket, using your ticket collection reference if you collected at the station, or using the barcode on a paper roll ticket.

No, credit will not be earned if you cancel your booking. If you chose to donate your credit to charity, this will not be donated if you cancel your booking.
Yes, if you travelled with us and your journey was refunded, in full or part, via our Delay Repay scheme, you will still earn your LNER Perks 2% credit based on your original transaction value.
Yes, if you travelled with us and your seat wasn’t available for your journey and your ticket cost was therefore refunded under our Seat Guarantee scheme, you will still earn your LNER Perks 2% credit based on your original transaction value.
You can spend your LNER Perks credit on our LNER mobile app or on the our website, LNER.co.uk. This applies to the £5 free credit for joining and the 2% credit you earn along the way.
You can spend your £5 joining credit as part payment for LNER Advance train tickets when booking through LNER against purchases of £5.15 and over.
You cannot donate your £5 joining credit to one of our charity partners, and you cannot use your £5 joining credit to buy a gift eVoucher for friends or family.
You can spend your 2% earned credit on LNER Advance train tickets booked directly with LNER.
Yes, you can gift your LNER Perks earned credit to friends or family by changing your credit into an eVoucher. You’ll need to have a minimum of £10 earned credit to be able to buy a gift eVoucher with your Perks credit and you can only spend this eVoucher on the LNER mobile App.
Your £5 joining credit and 2% credit is valid for 24 months from the date of whichever is the most recent:
Even if you use your £5 joining credit or your 2% earned credit as part payment, you will still earn 2% credit on the whole of the original ticket price.
You can either choose to spend your entire LNER Perks credit balance or save it for later. You cannot use part of it. If your ticket price costs less than your available credit balance, you will have Perks credit left at the end.
Unfortunately not, at the moment LNER Perks credit cannot be spent onboard or at our stations. Your LNER Perks credit can be spent on our website LNER.co.uk or on our mobile app, as full or part payment for LNER Advance train tickets.
No, you will need to update your email address on your current LNER account.
As an LNER Perks member, you are eligible for surprise treats. It wouldn’t be a surprise if we told you when to expect it!
No, LNER Perks joining and earned credit has no cash value. Unused, expired and redeemed credit cannot be refunded, exchanged or returned
If you have booked your tickets direct with us and you are a member of LNER Perks, you will have already benefited from LNER Perks credit and therefore your friends and family cannot benefit again when they travel.
Instead, if you’ve chosen to save your credit, when you’ve got at least £10 earned credit balance, you can gift your LNER Perks credit to friends and family by using it to buy them an LNER eVoucher!
