Our Wi-Fi service

From important emails to even more important Facebook updates, our on-board wireless internet will make sure you stay connected all the way to your destination. And the first fifteen minutes are free. 

Stay online all the way

Our Wi-Fi uses mobile data connections to give you coverage up and down the route. And because it automatically selects the best connection in the area, you can enjoy a drop-out free signal throughout your journey.

Wi-Fi is free for First Class passengers, and £4.95 per hour (or £9.95 for 24 hours) for everyone else. But we’ll give you your first 15 minutes absolutely free, which should be more than enough to check your mails and send a few tweets.

How to log on

Most mobile devices are set up to access Wi-Fi straight away. To get connected to the East Coast Wi-Fi service simply:

  • Select the 'EastCoast-WiFi' network when prompted (or in your Wi-Fi settings)
  • Launch your internet browser and you should then be directed to the East Coast landing page eastcoastwifi.train where you can log on to the service
  • Enjoy browsing!

  2. You will then be directed to the East Coast landing page eastcoastwifi.train where you can log on to the service

  3. Enter your Wi-Fi code that we emailed you when you redeemed your Points

  4. Enjoy your free on board Wi-Fi

Where can I access Wi-Fi on East Coast and how much does it cost?

Wi-Fi access is available throughout all our trains. It's offered free of charge to all First Class customers on board and in our First Class Lounges. If you're travelling in Standard Class you can enjoy 15 minutes free, with any extra usage costing £4.95 per hour or £9.95 for 24 hours.

If you're an East Coast Rewards member you can get 24 hours free on-board Wi-Fi when travelling in Standard class for just 50 Points. Take a look at our Rewards page for more information.

If you have a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or smartphone your system should automatically detect our server and direct you to our landing page when you switch on. If this doesn't happen go to your the network preferences and choose the East Coast connection, then open your browser to access the login page.
