Sarah Millican: Late Bloomer

27th Mar

South Shields-born Sarah Millican followed an unusual path to fame. Left unexpectedly by her husband in 2004, she moved back home with her parents and started taking writing workshops as an outlet for processing her emotions. Her first ever stand-up gig was in a Newcastle pub called The Dog & Parrot, which had a fringe theatre upstairs. Although she had no idea what she was doing, Millican drew on the pain of her failed marriage and connected with the audience… from then on, she was hooked on live comedy.

V&A Dundee

The first Victoria & Albert museum outside of London, the V&A Dundee has been designed to be a sustainable building using renewable energy.

From April 1st 2023 LNER is proud to support the V&A Dundee Tartan exhibition which will launch in the Scottish city and is the first ever dedicated tartan exhibition in the world. Following the development of its own tartan in 2019, LNER’s own tartan will be featuring in the exhibition which will run until early 2024 before moving to other museums across the world.
