Faster journeys

We know many of you want to reach your destination as quickly as possible, that’s why we’ve worked really hard to cut down journey times on some of our major routes, especially at peak travel times. Our new faster services will whisk you from the north and into London before you can say ‘faster journey’, making fewer stops and giving you more time in the city.

All aboard the ‘Flying Scotsman’

Now you can get from Edinburgh to London King’s Cross in an amazingly speedy four hours! Departing from Edinburgh at 05.40, you’ll arrive in London at 09.40 – giving you a full day there. This service, which was launched in response to feedback from our customers in Edinburgh and the North East, will also connect in Newcastle at 07.03 with services from Berwick-upon-Tweed, Alnmouth and Morpeth.

In addition, there will also be faster average journey times from many key stations, including:

● Newcastle to London – from just 2 hours 37 minutes (07:03 from Newcastle Monday-Friday)
● Leeds to London – from just 1 hour 59 minutes (07:00 from Leeds Monday-Friday)
