Pay for Parking on Your Mobile

Car parking prices are now frozen across all our current rates until December 2012.

Introducing RingGo

RingGo is the cashless parking payment service currently being rolled out at East Coast Main Line stations. It’s a quick, easy-to-use mobile phone service that lets you pay for your parking with a credit or debit card instead of using cash at a meter.

The benefits of RingGo

  • You no longer need to carry change
Your parking session will be charged to your specified debit or credit card
  • You don’t have to visit a parking meter
You can call RingGo from the comfort of your car or on the way to the platform
  • You don’t need a sticky ticket
Parking attendants have handheld units that check which vehicles are parked with RingGo
  • You can top up your parking session remotely
Simply call RingGo again and the service will ask you for your security code and how long you’d like to extend your session

Registering with RingGo

You can pre-register with RingGo online at https://www.MyRingGo.com/register
Alternatively, you can register from your East Coast station car park by calling RingGo on 01904 899 877 (the number is clearly displayed on ticket meters). Registration takes a couple of minutes, but future calls are usually less than 60 seconds.

When you phone for the first time, you will be asked for:

• The number plate, colour and make of your vehicle
• The location code for where you are parked (clearly displayed on ticket meters)
• The length of time for which you want to park
• Your payment card details

You will also be asked if you want a text confirmation of your parking session and a text reminder when your parking session is about to run out.

Parking with RingGo

If you’re registered, RingGo recognises your mobile number when you next call and asks you to:

• Confirm the vehicle that you want to park
• Confirm the location
• Say how long you want to park, and
• Provide the security code from your credit card

Again, you’ll be asked if you’d like a text confirmation or reminder.

Paying for RingGo

Registering with RingGo is free and there’s no charge for the PIN confirmation text when you set up your account. Calls to the RingGo service are charged at the standard rate – but if you have a mobile phone package which includes free bundled minutes, your call to RingGo is likely to be included within this. In any case, once you are registered, the call to park your car each time is very quick – usually less than a minute. When you park your vehicle with RingGo in an East Coast station car park, you’ll pay a 25p convenience charge on top of the normal parking tariff charges – whatever the length of your session. The charge will be shown on your monthly credit/debit card statement. Any text services you request, such as a confirmation of your parking session or a reminder when your parking session is about to run out, are charged at 10p each.
If you need a VAT receipt for your RingGo parking session, you can view and print it online at www.MyRingGo.com (for security, you will be asked to enter your 4 digit PIN provided to you when you registered). When you log in, you can also set your preferences to automatically receive a VAT receipt by email every time your park. Simply click on the Settings tab and tell us your email address.
