Big savings for small groups

Great for travelling with friends and family

Three is the magic number, especially when it gives you great savings on tickets with East Coast. If you’re travelling by train with at least two other people (and no more than nine), you can all enjoy 25% off the price of your East Coast Advance tickets.

It means you’ll have more money to spend when you arrive – on lunch, coffees, or whatever else takes your fancy. Plus, with a whole host of exciting destinations – including London, York, Edinburgh, Leeds and Newcastle – there’s plenty for family and friends to enjoy across the entire East Coast route.

How to save

Low cost group fares are only available online through this site for groups of 3-9 people.

Look out for the Small Groups icon symbol next to the fare when choosing your tickets. The offer is applicable to all East Coast Advance fares in both Standard and First Class – so you can make an even bigger saving.

Terms & conditions

  • 25% discount will be applied for bookings of three or more (up to a maximum of nine) on Standard or First Advance tickets.
  • The discount applies to the offline fare. Subject to availability.
  • Not valid in conjunction with any other offers or with Railcard discounts.
  • Not available on the 09:52 between Aberdeen and Newcastle on Fridays.
  • Small Group Discount applies to Advance tickets booked online, and usual Advance terms and conditions apply, plus the following conditions:
  • Passengers must travel together throughout.
  • Any changes to tickets will need to be made to all tickets in the group booking.
  • East Coast reserves the right to withdraw, amend or replace the offer without prior notification.

Please note, there may be occasions when groups of seats are only available together in the Quiet Coach (usually coach B in Standard Class). Although we will try to book groups into other coaches, unless the Quiet Coach is specified, this may not always be possible on your chosen train(s). We expect groups to respect the rules in the Quiet coach, in consideration of others.
