Sargent and the Sea

John Singer Sargent is best known for his glamorous portraits of American society; now, for the first time in Britain, a different side to the artist’s work is explored through around 80 paintings, drawings and watercolours of seascapes and coastal scenes he produced early on in his career during holidays to France and Capri, and on two transatlantic voyages.
