Jan/Feb/Mar

Edinburgh is known for its festivals and springtime is no exception in the Scottish capital. There’s the Snowdrop Festival, when the delicate white flowers can be seen blooming at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, among other places (1 Feb-15 Mar), Ceilidh Culture, an annual festival of traditional arts (song, music, dance, storytelling) showcasing the best of home-grown talent alongside acts from around the world (26 Mar-18 Apr); and the Edinburgh International Science Festival, which takes place in a whopping 26 venues across the city and further afield. Visitors will be able to meet ASIMO, the world’s most advanced humanoid robot, see seven floors jam-packed with explosive experiments at the City Art Centre and join world thinkers and writers in the programme of debates and discussion (3-17 Apr).
