Finding your way
One of the most striking changes to King’s Cross is the new layout. The introduction of separate departure and arrival concourses means that to catch your East Coast
train from King’s Cross you’ll need
to approach the platforms through
the Western Departures Concourse.
When your train arrives into the
station, you’ll exit through the
Arrivals Concourse.
This creates a ‘one-way’ system
which means no more bumping
into other passengers as they all
head in different directions.
From now on, everyone will
approach the platforms from one
direction, and leave in another.
Direct access from King’s Cross
St. Pancras Tube station into the
Western Departures Concourse
will also ease congestion, enabling
you to move around the station
and get to and from your platform
more easily.
If you’re arriving into King’s Cross
onto Platform 0–8, and have a
connecting train on Platform
9–11, you’ll need to exit the station
through the Arrivals Concourse,
then re-enter into the Western
Departures Concourse for access to
these platforms to catch your train.
