East Coast Rewards: Benefit terms and conditions
Travel for two:
Valid for use by anyone not just the member. Complimentary travel must be booked online using a membership account.
Once booked, complimentary tickets and seat reservations will either be posted to you or collected by ToD.
The ticket is valid on the date and train specified only, and cannot be changed. If either the ticket or reservation coupons are not presented on-board, or the customer is travelling on any trains other than those reserved, this ticket is invalid and the appropriate fare should be charged.
In the event that the booked train is cancelled, you are permitted to travel on the next available service, although seating accommodation cannot be guaranteed.
- This benefit is transferable.
- Each voucher code is valid for use by up to two people to book a First Class return journey on East Coast trains only. Your journey must start and return to the same station. If you choose to travel on any East Coast trains other than the ones reserved for you, your ticket will have no value and you will have to purchase the appropriate ticket for that journey. This charge is non-refundable.
- All voucher codes must be used by the expiry date displayed in the account summary of the online membership account or that last day of the East Coast Main Line Company Ltd franchise (whichever is earlier). Should the voucher code not be used by this date, no replacement will be issued.
- A voucher code can only be redeemed by booking a complimentary journey using your online account at eastcoast.co.uk. You must sign in to your account in order to redeem voucher codes.
- Each voucher code can be used by the friends and family of East Coast Rewards members for complimentary leisure travel.
- You must book your complimentary ticket at least 7 days in advance of your outward travel date. The voucher code only becomes a valid ticket when a booking is completed online and you are in possession of your complimentary ticket.
- Once a booking has been made, no changes to travel plans are permitted, voucher codes will not be replaced. In the event of your booked train being cancelled, you will be permitted to travel on the next available service, although seating accommodation cannot be guaranteed.
- Each voucher code is valid for travel on any day of the week. The return journey must be completed within 1 calendar month of the outward journey and both outward and return journeys must be booked at the same time. You may not break and resume your journey at an intermediate station except to change to/from connecting East Coast trains as shown on your ticket.
- There are a limited number of tickets available in conjunction with this offer. These will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. If the tickets on the East Coast train on which you wish to travel have already been allocated, you will need to select an alternative service that has availability. Please note that the number of tickets available will vary from train to train and on certain peak-time trains, tickets will not be available. There may be certain dates at busy times (such as Christmas and Easter) on which bookings using voucher codes are not permitted. The details will be available on the website.
- You must present your tickets and reservations on board at the time of travel or at any other time at the request of East Coast staff or their representatives.
- Complimentary tickets have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for a cash alternative, refund or any other ticket. No compensation payments will be made in respect of delays or train cancellations experienced when using a complimentary ticket to travel.
- Each voucher code has a cash redemption value of 0.001p and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or reduced price offer.
- Voucher codes must not be proffered for sale or exchanged in any way for gain including utilisation in lotteries, raffles or any other means as a prize or part thereof..
- Voucher codes cannot be re-sold. East Coast reserves the right to suspend or cancel voucher codes and/or East Coast Rewards membership if fraudulent use is suspected.
- Employees of East Coast Main Line Company Ltd, their immediate relatives or users of status passes are not permitted to take advantage of complimentary tickets booked with voucher codes.
- Children aged 15 and under may not travel unaccompanied using complimentary tickets.
- Up to two children under the age of 5 per ticket can travel free but no seat reservation will be issued. Children aged 5-15 pay £20. Children 16 and over pay full fare.
- All passengers are carried subject to the normal Terms and Conditions of East Coast and the National Rail Conditions of Carriage.
Travel for One

The terms and conditions are identical to Travel for Two above, with the exception of condition 1:
- Each voucher code is valid for use by one person to book a First Class return journey on East Coast trains only. Your journey must start and return to the same station. If you choose to travel on any East Coast trains other than the ones reserved for you, your ticket will have no value and you will have to purchase the appropriate ticket for that journey. This charge is non-refundable.
Access to First Class Lounges
Members of the East Coast Rewards scheme are entitled to access East Coast First Class Lounges with up to one companion, simply by presenting a valid membership card. No ticket needs to be shown.
Free ¼ bottle of house wine
This offer is only available to the member on presenting a valid membership card.
This offer is not available with breakfast, or before 11:00.
- The member must order a two-course meal from either the Restaurant or At-seat Dining menu unless using a First Class Package* ticket (see condition 2 below). One course must be a main course.
- If the customer is travelling using a First Class Package* ticket, this offer is available on presentation of the valid ‘membership card, without the requirement to order a two course meal.
- The offer is valid for house red or white wine only.
- This offer is not valid for any other type of drinks.
- When ordering a two course meal this offer is limited to one quarter bottle of wine per Rewards member in a single transaction.
- On the production of a valid First Class Package* ticket this offer is limited to one quarter bottle of wine per member for each leg (i.e. outward and return) of a journey.
- The original outward or return portion of the First Class Package* ticket must be presented and it must be valid for travel at the time of the transaction.
* Qualifying First Class Package tickets are those listed below. No other tickets will be accepted for this offer:

d) First Park & Go
Discounted First and Standard Advance tickets
- To use this benefit a member must make purchases at eastcoast.co.uk when signed in to their account. To access the discount fare members must sign in to the ‘Redeem vouchers' section.
- This benefit is not available at any outlet other than through eastcoast.co.uk
- When booking, selected East Coast Advance ticket prices will show an automatic discount exclusive to Members of Rewards
- A maximum of 9 tickets that can be booked in a single transaction, regardless of the number of adults and children travelling.
- Normal First Advance terms and conditions and Standard Advance terms and conditions apply.
