The First Class Restaurant is available during peak hours and offers the best of British cuisine with innovative and distinctive menus and a truly personal service. The Restaurant is open for dining on selected services in the morning serving a range of hearty breakfasts to prepare you for the day and on selected services in the evening offering an à la carte menu.

Our food is driven by a passion for recipes that showcase the best, fresh ingredients. Our new menus have been created by a group of our very own talented East Coast Chefs.

Breakfast

If you’re travelling with us in the morning, you’ll find a wide choice of breakfasts to suit your appetite. Breakfast is served Monday to Friday on the following services:

Dinner

In the evening, the restaurant offers a full à la carte menu. Dinner is served Monday to Friday on the following services:

Northbound, Anglo Scottish route dinner trains
16.30, 17.00, 17.30, 18.00, 18.19, 18.30, 19.00

Served before 11am. All our breakfasts include a choice of starter, served with a morning bread basket, orange juice and tea or coffee

Gourmet Leek Soup V A delicious soup made from puréed fresh leeks. Served with cream and croutons	£4.00
Poached Egg and Smoked Salmon DA classic dish of poached, free-range egg with red onion and smoked salmon. Served on a toasted potato cake and topped with Hollandaise sauce.	£4.00
Mushroom and Blue Cheese Melt Toasted ciabatta piled with confit of onion, sautéed mushrooms and melting blue cheese. Served with Italian mixed salad leaves.	£4.00

Rump of Lamb Oven-roasted rump of lamb with char-grilled asparagus, mashed potato and tarragon infused Béarnaise sauce.	£18.00
Spicy Aubergine V A classic recipe of baked aubergine stuffed with rice, vegetables, fruit and spices. Topped with crisp toasted breadcrumbs and served on a yoghurt and mint dressed salad and drizzled with rose syrup.	£14.00
