£9 fare offer terms and conditions

It is essential that you read these terms and conditions carefully, as you may be charged the full open fare if you haven’t purchased the correct ticket for your journey.

1.  The £9 special offer fares are subject to availability on selected off-peak East Coast trains. Tickets will not be available for travel 12 - 21 February 2010 inclusive.
2. No Railcard, child, online or other discounts are available with this offer. Under 5s travel free if they do not occupy a seat.
3. £9 tickets are only valid when presented with the special printed voucher (download here) which will be inspected on the train. If you are unable to present the voucher when requested, you may be liable to pay the full fare for the journey.
4. The printed voucher can only be used for one return journey. If you plan to take advantage of this offer more than once, you will need a new voucher for each return journey you make. Each voucher can be used for up to four people travelling together for the entire journey.
5. Your ticket(s) are only valid for the date, East Coast train(s) and reserved seat(s) shown on your ticket(s). If you travel on any other train, you may be liable to pay the full fare for the journey.
6. You may not start, break and resume, or end your journey at an intermediate station except to change to/from appropriate connecting East Coast trains where these are shown on your ticket(s) or other official itinerary.
7. Once a booking is made, no changes or refunds will be allowed.
8. You may not be able to travel to and from every station shown on the route map as journeys are subject to availability.
9. Offer is available in Standard Class only. If you have purchased a £9 ticket, no upgrade to First Class will be allowed except when you may upgrade at weekends to First Class for £20 or £25 each way, per person, depending on the journey ('Weekend First'). This can be done only on board. Please note Weekend First does not allow access to East Coast First Class Lounges.
